Teotihuacan

Early in my time with Walmart International I was spending a lot of time working with the logistics team in Mexico. At the end of one of my trips to Mexico City the team offered to take us on an afternoon excursion to see the Pyramids at Teotihuacan.

Fun fact: standing on top of that pyramid above you can see a Walmart store.

The name Teotihuacan means “the place where the gods were created” or the “birthplace of the gods”, but that name was given to it long after it was abandoned by people who came later. The complex is massive with a number of big, impressive pyramids. The original city covered around 8 square miles.

After we visited the site we ended up eating dinner at a great roadside cafe eating great local food and drinking colonche.
